You're sharing something deeply personal. Here's exactly what we do with it.

What we store

Your answers to the question bank, your conversation history, and your account information (email, subscription status). We do not store your payment details — those are handled by Stripe.

How your data is used

Your question bank answers are used to build your pet's persona. Your conversation history is used to maintain continuity across sessions and is periodically compressed to manage storage. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not sell your data. Ever.

Who can see your data

Only you. Karyad staff can access anonymised system logs for debugging purposes only. No human at Karyad reads your conversations.

Data retention

Active accounts: your data is retained indefinitely. Cancelled accounts: data is retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted — or longer if you hold a Preserve subscription. Your Memory Book is always yours to download from your account and is offered for download again at cancellation and account deletion. Account deletion requests are processed within 7 business days.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data or permanent deletion at any time by emailing privacy@karyad.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie for authentication. No tracking cookies. No third-party analytics.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days in advance.
